 Nearing to  siruvapuri God Murugan temple and Lord Perumal temple.

East facing small shrine with compound wall was contructed by 

சின்னம்பேடு (Chinnambedu) ஸ்தலம், தற்போதைய தமிழ்நாட்டின் திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள சோழவரம் வட்டாரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. புழலிலிருந்து  பஞ்செட்டியைக் கடந்து 33 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் சிறுவாபுரி முருகன் கோவிலுக்கு முன்னதாக அமைந்துள்ளது.

 

முற்கால சோழற்கால தொண்டைமண்டலத்திலுள்ள புழல்கோட்டத்தில் சின்னம்பேடு என்ற இடத்தில் மேலும் ஜினாலயம் இருந்து அழிந்து பட்டிருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதற்கு சான்றாக சில காலத்திற்கு  முன் கிடைத்த ஸ்ரீபார்ஸ்வஜினரின் காயோத்சர்க நிலையிலுள்ள சிலை காட்சியளிக்கிறது..

 

ஐந்துதலை பனாமுடியுடன் நின்றநிலையிலுள்ள பார்ஸ்வஜினரின் கருங்கல் சிலையில் இருபுறமும் சாமரை வீசும் தேவர்கள் கால் பகுதியிலும், மற்றும் அவர் தோளின் இருபுறமும் வலம்புரிச்சங்கும் தாமரையும் புடைப்பில் வடிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது புதியசிலை வடிவமாக தோன்றுகிறது. அவர்கள் நவநிதியில் இரண்டைக் காட்டி யிருப்பது; அவர் அரசனாக செல்வச் செழிப்புடன் வாழ்ந்ததைக் சுட்ட சங்கு(நிதி)ஐயும், பின் முழுதுணர்ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றவர் என்பதைச் சுட்ட பத்ம(நிதி)த்தையும் காட்டியிருப்பார்கள் என்பது நிச்சயம். இச்சிற்ப இலக்கணத்தை இங்குதான் காணமுடிந்தது.

 

இந்த சிலை வடிவத்தின் புறப்பரப்பில் உள்ள வழவழப்புத்தன்மை மற்றும் சிலை செதுக்கிய கலைப்பாணியைக் காணும் போது  900 கடந்த சிலை வடிவமாகத் தெரிகிறது.

 

அவரது இயக்கனான தரணேந்திர யக்ஷனையும், இயக்கியான பத்மாவதி யக்ஷியின் உருவச்சிலைகள் அவர் சிற்ப அளவிற்கு சற்றுக் குறைவாக வடித்து கருவறையில் கூடுதலாக நிறுவியிருப்பது அருமையிலும் அருமை. மேலும் அவரது பாதச்சுவடுகளைத் தாங்கிய வேதியும் உள்ளே காணப்படுகிறது.

 

சிற்றாலயம் என்றாலும் சுற்றிலும் மதிற்சுவருடனான திருச்சுற்றும் உள்ளன.

 

மேலும் அங்கு சமணர்கள் பலர் வாழ்ந்துள்ளனர் என்பதற்குச் சான்றாக அருகிலுள்ள வரதராஜ பெருமாள் கோவில் அம்மன் சன்னதி முக மண்டபத்தூண்களில் இரண்டு தீர்த்தங்கரர்களின்  புடைப்புச் சிற்பங்கள் இருப்பதாக சொல்லப்படுகின்றன. (நேரம் போதாமையால் சென்று காண முடியவில்லை)

 

கல்வெட்டுக்கள்

 

பார்சவநாதர் கோயிற் கருவறையின் கூரைப் பகுதியில் மிகவும் சிதைந்த நிலையில் கல் வெட்டுகள் காணப்படுகின்றன.

 

சரியாக முற்றுப் பெறாத வாக்கியங்களாக உள்ளது. இதன் தொடர்ச்சியைக் கொண்ட மேலும் ஒருசில கல்வெட்டுகள் கிடைக்காமல் போயிருக்கலாம்.

 

குறிப்பு: இரண்டு வேளை பூஜை செய்யும் அளவில் ஒரு உபாத்தியாயரும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டு அவருக்காக ஒரு  சிறுகுடிலும் பின்புறத்திலுள்ளது.

Chinnambedu is a place located in the Cholavaram block of the present-day Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It is located 33 km from Puzhal, passes by Panchetty, and before the Siruvapuri Murugan temple.

 

The statue of Sri Parsvajinar in the Kayotsarga position, found some time ago, is evidence that there must have been one more Jinalaya in the past history, at Chinnambedu in Puzhalkottam in the early Chola period, which must have been destroyed.

 

The black stone statue of Parsvajinar, standing with a five-headed Panama hat, has gods throwing chamara on both sides on his legs and lotuses circling on both sides of his shoulders, which appears to be a new form of sculpture. They have shown two in the Navanidhi; It is certain that they would have shown the conch (conch shell) that indicated his wealth as a king, and the lotus  that indicated his attainment of complete enlightenment. This sculpture was found here.

 

The age of carving of the artefacts, the texture and details of the statue, assumed as 900 years old carvature.

 

The additional  statues installed incide the sanctum is, his serving God Dharanendhra Yaksha and serving Goddess Padmavati Yakshi, which are slightly smaller than the actual size of the sculpture, are very beautiful. Also, a vedi bearing his footprints is also seen.

 

Although it is a small temple, there is a walled enclosure around it.

 

Also, as evidence that many Jains lived there, it is said that there are relief sculptures of two Tirthankaras on the pillars of the Amman shrine of the nearby Varadaraja Perumal temple. (We could not visit due to lack of time)

 

Inscriptions

 

Stone carvings are found in a very damaged state on the roof of the sanctum sanctorum of Parsavanatha temple.

 

It is incomplete in sentences. It is possible that some more inscriptions that have a continuation of this have not been found.

 

Note: An Upathiyar has also been appointed to perform the puja twice a day and a small house for him is also located at the back.
